![]() ![]() With so many events to enjoy, it would be easy to become confused. Fortunately, the developers incorporated a vast amount of songs, and this reduced the feeling of repetition. The high tempo songs blended with the unusual sound effects add energy and amusement to the gameplay. Unsurprisingly, a whacky game requires a zany soundtrack, and that’s exactly what is delivered. Visually, this is finished to a high standard, and I loved the selection of heroes and the additional cosmetics that could be unlocked. Furthermore, this makes the hectic gameplay easier to manage. The action is helped by the smooth movement and well-animated characters. Thanks to its excellent stage designs, cartoon monsters, and variety of traps and activities, it was interesting to look at. I’m a sucker for a bright and colourful experience, and My Singing Monsters Playground is eye-wateringly vivid. My Singing Monsters Playground looks wonderful. Unfortunately, though, this never materialised, and this stagnates the gameplay very quickly. I just wanted there to be more structure to develop the ideas further, and tougher foes. I had no issue with the amount of variety. You must run away from stampeding monsters, drive race cars, dodge logs, match shapes, avoid gloop, power up a rocket, and more. However, if you can put aside the lack of story and underperforming competitors, you experience some wonderful and interesting moments. Even with three difficulty settings to select, it was never challenging. Unfortunately, hammering the computer players regularly isn’t as appealing. With friends in tow, you can mask the repetition as you mock one another, or team up to annoy a friend. This was okay for a short period of time, but it quickly became stale, especially when playing solo. No, it simply wants you to compete repeatedly with no advancements in the gameplay. The action doesn’t revolve around a board game, nor does it take you on an adventure. Sadly, though, My Singing Monsters Playground doesn’t have the depth that its behemoth peer is famous for. It reminded me of the Mario Party franchise. Think of Monopoly on Christmas Day and multiply it by ten! That’s how quickly things escalated. It was amazing how quickly the tournaments became competitive and arguments were commonplace. The reward for winning an event is three diamonds, 2 nd awards two, 3 rd one, and 4 th leaves you empty-handed. Though the formula for Coca-Cola concentrate doesn’t change, there can be slight differences in sweetness since bottling agencies may change the amount of sweeteners used to fit the local population’s palate, and some versions of the cola are said to be sweeter or sharper in other countries. For instance using less of the concentrate than is recommended, or changing the type of sweetener used. Slight variations may occur if the bottlers don’t conform to standards of production. Each bottling company adds water and whatever sweeteners are used for that specific type of coke. He also emphasized that the process of designing vehicles at Tesla was a continuous learning curve from previous models for the next generation. He feels that if it is not functional then is it really design? At Tesla, they put functionality and form on par with one another in the vehicle’s design process as producing a beautifully looking car should also incorporate practical functionality. 11/19/2022 0 Comments Gravity rush![]() ![]() This review is based off a complete playthrough of the game, which is why I took some time getting around to writing this up as the game is immense. I only hope that this is not the last we have seen of Kat and her gravity shifting abilities, as there’s a lot more scope here for something even better. I am very glad Sony stuck by this series, as it is shows that games are at their best when they are weird and varied. Due to its unique gravity based mechanics, there are still some teething issues but the game remains eminently playable and fun with it. Overall, Gravity Rush 2 is a fantastic sequel to an already very good and interesting Vita game. The new light and heavy play styles are also an interesting addition but the normal mode is the one I still used most. With all this said though, I was still able to play through the entire game just fine and enjoyed it just fine. This kind of restriction then feels very cursory and tends to get in the way. ![]() This is because you have a set amount of gravity you can use and when it runs out you start to freefall, but when you freefall your gravity bar refills practically instantly. Managing your gravity bar is also something that still feels unnecessary. Unfortunately, relative to the angle you initiated the original fall means you can actually slip off a building and continue along that trajectory. When you land on a building in gravity mode, it would make more sense to stick the surface as you walk over it. It would make more sense to have more concessions for this within the game, such as more overt homing for your gravity kick as well as a way to auto-track enemies with the camera.Īnother thing that’s still irksome is that the way gravity is portrayed on surfaces is somewhat literal. In that, keeping track of enemies (especially airborne ones) is a bit of a chore at times. While the controls are very responsive and fluid, the game itself can get a bit confused in combat. #GRAVITY RUSH SERIES#To be honest, the visual vibe of the game did really remind me of the anime series Xam’d: Lost Memories in places and that’s something I entirely welcome.ĭespite all of this, some things did still bother me. Talking of anime, the characters are done well in terms of their facial expressions and the comic based approach to the story scenes is nicely done. If you’re a fan of Tanaka’s music, as he does many scores for anime such as Gunbuster and Gundam 08th MS Teamto name but a few, then you won’t be disappointed with his work here. ![]() The score, again composed by Kohei Tanaka, is also great and uses leitmotif for each strata of the city, which again helps to reinforce the wealth of those up above compared to the poverty of those down below. In short, compared to the first installment on the Vita, Gravity Rush 2 is a bright and visually arresting game. There are also some very strong overtones to the work of Mœbius, especially in regards to the city’s council members. Much of this is reinforced with the fabulous visual design and styling throughout the game, from the varied and vibrant architecture in the city to the fun layout of the menus. This is also backed up by the warmth of the characters and the result is a game that has a story with a great deal of heart. The narrative then makes its points on money and status quite directly but it never grates, as the game doesn’t try to be overly worthy in that regard. This in turn results in a unique configuration for the main city, with each strata of society poised above one another. The story is also quite straight up in its take on class warfare, where the rich literally live above the poor. This is also one of the most charming aspects to Gravity Rush 2, not only is Kat a wonderfully likable and bubbly protagonist but the rest of the characters are often rather endearing as well. The book deals with themes of friendship, self-esteem issues, bullying, coping mechanisms, and many more but does so in a safe and relatable manner. Perfect for fans of Raina Telgemeier and Jennifer L. It works well in making sure that the reader always understands whose voice we are now hearing but it does take a while to get used to. The writing style of this book is quite an interesting one with Emmie’s story being told through more of a traditional writing style and accompanying illustrations and then Katie’s story being told in graphic novel form. Katie is the school’s most popular student who has everything going for her, outgoing personality, more friends than she can keep up with, perfect grades, and a great new boyfriend Tyler Ross.
